The purpose of this practice is to provide students with an opportunity to:
- explore their career interests
- develop their career-related self-awareness
Included in the practice is:
- a game
- some videos of young people discussing their career journeys
- a career interest quiz for students that is on the myWAY Employability website
This Exploring Interests practice can be used in conjunction with the inclusionED Big picture: career interests practice which was one of the original practices that was developed as part of the Autism CRC research project called Better OutcOmes & Student Transitions for Autism or BOOST-A .
The MyWay Employability resources on inclusionED meet the needs of diverse learners and most resources are scaffolded. Some students may require a peer mentor to engage in tasks requiring career-related self-awareness, and/or in independently navigating a website.
