inclusionED is a website developed and hosted by the Autism CRC.

Autism CRC Ltd ABN 55 162 632 180 and its related entities (Autism CRC, we, us or our) is committed to upholding and protecting personal information of all inclusionED users and community members. Autism CRC is required to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) including the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

inclusionED has been developed by Autism CRC for its Australian operations. In accessing and using the inclusionED site, you acknowledge your acceptance of these Terms of Use (the Terms) and may use the site as set out therein. If you do not wish to be bound by the Terms, you must not access the site.

These Terms include: Privacy and Data Policy, including collection and handling of personal information; Copyright and Disclaimer; and Community Guidelines, each set out below.

From time to time, Autism CRC may change or add to the site, including these Terms, without notice. Any change to these terms will be effective as soon as they are published on the site. You should review these Terms regularly to check for updates. By using the site, you accept the Terms in force at the time of accessing the site.

Privacy and Data policy

Our Privacy and Data Policy outlines the kinds of personal and sensitive information we collect, why we collect this information, and how we handle it.

Why we collect personal information

“Personal information” is information or an opinion about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.

We may collect personal information about you when it is reasonably necessary for, or directly related to, our functions or activities. We may collect sensitive information about you where you provide consent, when the collection is authorised or required by law, or the collection is otherwise allowed under the Privacy Act.

Direct marketing

We will also use and disclose your personal information to send direct marketing to you from:

• us; and
• third parties who provide services to us. 

Direct marketing may relate to:

• our products and services; or
• new developments, including site and content updates we believe may be of interest to you. 

You may opt-out of receiving this direct marketing through the unsubscribe function that will be made available to you with each direct marketing communication, or by contacting the inclusionED Privacy Officer using the details set out below.

How we collect personal information

Personal information is collected through a variety of channels. This includes online forms on the inclusionED website, or conversations conducted face-to-face or over the telephone. Some of the personal information we may collect includes your name, contact details, address, gender, date of birth, electronic address(es) and employment. We use technologies, such as cookies, to customise content and advertising, to provide social media features and to analyse traffic to the site. We also share information about your use of our site with our trusted social media, advertising and analytics partners.

We may also collect information about how you use the inclusionED website (including your location, pages visited, MAC addresses, IP addresses, operating system and browser being used).

We store your personal information on cloud-based services, including Amazon Web Services, Google Analytics, Salesforce, Marketing Cloud and Form Assembly.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information against misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. There is limited access to data by only a few, specified individuals.

We also have role-based restrictions on the community platform. For example, the administrator cannot be edited by anyone, normal users do not have access to site management features (e.g. viewing, editing, or deleting users), and site managers do not have access to features they don’t require access to.

Access to the website is carried out using secure connections only. An SSL certificate is used to secure the information transferred between users and the website.

How to access your personal information

You have the right to:

  • ask for access to personal information that we hold about you, and
  • ask that we correct the personal information we hold about you.

If you ask, we must give you access to your personal information, and take reasonable steps to correct it if we consider it is incorrect, unless there is a law that allows or requires us not to do so. We will notify you in writing and explain our reasons if we refuse to give you access to, or correct, your personal information.

How to make a complaint about privacy

If you wish to complain about how we’ve handled your personal information, first try to resolve the issue with the person you’ve been dealing with. If you are not satisfied, you can ask to speak to their supervisor.

Under Australian copyright law, the inclusionED website and its contents are the property of Autism CRC or relevant third parties.

The information contained on this website has been published by Autism CRC to assist public knowledge and practice to improve the outcomes for students with diverse learning needs. To this end, Autism CRC grants permission for the general use of any or all of this information provided due acknowledgement is given to its source.

Autism CRC does not warrant or represent the accuracy, currency and completeness of any information or material available on inclusionED. Autism CRC and all persons associated with it exclude all liability (including liability for negligence) in relation to any opinion, advice or information contained on this website or for any consequences arising from the use of such opinion, advice or information.

Website links from inclusionED to other websites do not imply any relationship with, or endorsement of those sites or their content by the Autism CRC.

Third party content and links

This Platform may include links to third party websites and other online resources.  Such links do not indicate a relationship between those third parties and Autism CRC, nor endorsement by Autism CRC of such third parties, their products, services or websites.  Use of such links is entirely at your own risk and are subject to the terms of those third-party websites. 

Community Guidelines

inclusionED celebrates the diversity of Australian classrooms and encourages everyone to join the conversation around our practices. To ensure the discussions are constructive; we ask you follow our inclusionED community guidelines including:

Do

  • Do respect each other. We are all equals, no matter how or where we share our thoughts and opinions.
  • Do keep your comments focused and on topic, according to each post. This helps facilitate the best, most productive conversations. If you have bigger ideas, get in contact. We are happy to hear from you.
  • Do protect your privacy. Comments are visible to anyone in this community. You should not post anything here that you would not say in public. Protect your privacy and do not give out personal information such as email addresses, telephone numbers or street addresses.

Don’t

  • Don’t be hateful. Disagreements can lead to great progress. However, insulting individuals will not be tolerated.
  • Don’t post comments that use racism, sexism or are discriminatory or defamatory. These are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Moderation

Currently all posts are moderated for adherence to the above guidelines, including submission for approval before publishing. This process is managed by system administration and may take up to 24hrs for approved posts to be published. 

Posts may also be flagged for inappropriate or offensive content by other members of the community. These are reported to system administration.
