Summary
Sometimes you might only become aware immediately before the task is due that a student hasn’t:
- understood the task requirement
- kept track of deadlines on assignments.
You can facilitate student and parent/carer understanding of task requirements, student responsibilities and deadlines by providing:
- visual guidelines of the unit of study, that clearly shows what needs to be done
- visual notifications and reminders of assessments and due dates through the use of planners and timelines.
Teachers assist students in understanding the task using visual guidelines outlining the requirements of the task and steps to complete the task.
Teachers also facilitate student use of planners and timelines to keep track of due dates and monitor their progress on the task.
