Vision and values

The vision and values of inclusionED are informed by those of Autism CRC, the independent national source of evidence for best practice related to autism, as we strive for a more diverse and inclusive world.

Our vision is to empower education professionals to discover and respond to the strengths and interests of diverse learners with knowledge and compassion. Our mission is to initiate, co-produce and translate collaborative research in inclusive learning and provide resources for best practice to deliver positive change for students with diverse learning needs.

We are committed to inclusive research practices. We work with students on the spectrum, their families, and educators to ensure our research provides practical and tangible outcomes that benefit the whole school community.

Established in 2013, Autism CRC is the world’s first national, cooperative research effort focused on autism. We are the independent national source of evidence for best practice in relation to autism across the lifespan and the spectrum. Our School Years Program has seen more than 25 research projects conducted on-ground in more than 300 state, Catholic and Independent schools across Australia, over six years. These projects developed:

  • tools and practices to enhance teaching and the learning experience (classrooms of excellence),
  • evidence-based tools and programs for supporting social, emotional and behavioural needs of children and young people
  • a better understanding of the developmental and behavioural trajectories of Australian students on the autism spectrum and the skills; and
  • confidence of teachers and support personnel.
