This practice is part of a formal evaluation project exploring the feasibility, acceptability, and value to educators. The evaluation project will occur in Terms 1, 2 and 3, 2021. The evaluation project is available to Queensland based educators only, however feedback is welcome from anyone via the green button labelled Feedback on the right hand side of the screen.
This practice assists students to identify their level of competency across a range of life skills such as
- using technology
- getting around on public transport
Students are introduced to life skill goal-setting via some case studies. They are then invited to explore their own life skills on the myWAY Employability website.
The MyWay Employability practices on inclusionED meet the needs of diverse learners and most resources are scaffolded. Some students may require a peer mentor to engage to navigate the website.

1. Login to myWay Employability
Ensure that your students have access to a computer to individually log onto the myWAY Employability website.
2. Please adapt this lesson plan to meet your needs
3. Introduce the myWAY Employability Goal-Setting Activity
Go to the myWAY Employability website and show students the Goal-setting section on the dashboard. You will need Internet access for this task.
Use a Smartboard if you have one available, otherwise ask students to go the website (using a computer or tablet) and talk them through it.
Demonstrate to students how to complete the activity you might find the peer video helpful.
